1997, a year of change in Hong Kong, a year of significance. But, like any other year, people and friends are falling victim to AIDS; and like any other year, there needs to be continued education, care and awareness programs in the community. This year , Concerned Asians and Friends, aim to raise valuable funds for Aids Concern and other related charities, through the sales of this calendar and related publicity events.
It was by no means an easy task to match the tremendous success of the 1996 calendar. However, 1997's project pulled together some very dedicated people and talent who have given their absolute commitment and inspiration.
After switching from being the Art Director for Saatchi & Saatchi, Wong, Lam, HK Ltd. I had been working in Hong Kong for quite awhile, portrait photography being my specialty. I was lucky enough to have been invited to be the official photographer for the Hong Kong Men 1997 Calendar.

As there is not enough space to put all the photographs from the shoot in the calendar, I thought it might be a good idea to share the unpublished photos on my website and feature a new model from time to time.

I did not want to stagnate in 2 dimensions,
and am constantly looking for new mediums to explore.
The next progression was to somehow turn my photographs into 3 dimensional pieces. Using the conventional frame to ''lock in'' my subjects and supplementing the space with relevant materials, I tried to give the photographic image a more tactile feel.
