Portrait photographer from Hong Kong, Tan moved to London 3 years ago hoping to work on West End Musicals. He is now resident photographer for Jerry Herman's production - The Best of Times.
Favourite Books : I don't have time to read books.
Magazines : I like all sorts, but my present favourite is the British monthly, Wallpaper, which is presented with originality and has execellent photography.
Films : I adore Disney cartoons, especially Sleeping Beauty. I also love musicals, so I am very much looking forward to the film version of Chicago, starring Madonna.
CD : Anything by Jerry Herman, a genius who writes both music and lyrics for stage productions. "Jerry's Girls" features a collections of his best songs from musicals like Hello Dolly!, Mame and La Cage aux Folles. I also like John Kander and Fred Ebb's scores for the theatrical production of, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Cabaret.And Coleman, Rodgers, Sondheim, Webber...
Car : I become moronic behind the wheel of a car, and since my last crash I have quit driving. Now I use my bike or take the tube.
Places to take a guest in Hong Kong : Felix at the Peninsula which has a magical panoramic view of the harbour.
A way to keep fit : My Job, I walk and travel alot. I also cycle, swim and work out regularly, and stick to a vegetarian diet during the week.
Way to spend a Sunday : Church in the morning. In London, I like going for a walk in a park near Tower Bridge.
Holiday destination : I spend so much time travelling, that relaxing at home is my ideal holiday.
Scent : Vanilla, I was a big vanilla ice cream fan as a child. I use vanilla scented cologne by Comptoir sud Pacifique as a room fragrance, because I really don't like wearing scent.
Cosmetic/beauty product : Fresh air and water.
Accessory : Minolta cameras for their ultra sensitive auto focus. This I can rely on, during tragic scenes when tears blur my vision. This happens often....
Hairdresser : G F Trumper.
Resteraunt : Axis for it's ambience,Wok Wok in Soho for it fusion fast food..
Alcoholic drink : Alcohol gives me a bad stomach, although I will have the occasional Kir Royale.
Shop : The Disney store, I have already bought everything I like, NOT fluffy toys, but I still go every week to look for new items to add into my collection .
Artist : Ms Maureen Lipman, the leading lady in London's production of Oklahoma, for her professionalism in sustaining consistantly high performance standards day after day. Not everyone can do that!
Designer : Helmut Lang, Issey Miyake and Comme des Garcons who all produce very high quality clothes.
Person : Jesus because he is the only one that truly listens to me and loves me unconditionally.
