Russell played Fleance in Macbeth at the age of
13 for Vanessa Ford Productions. He became a member of the
National Youth Theatre, appearing in Nightshriek at the Shaw
Theatre and Zigger Zagger in Barcelona. He then trained at
the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts. After graduating
he joined the European tour of The Golden Musicals Of
Broadway playing Frank'n'Furter and Bill Snibson.
West End
credits include: Aspects Of Love at the Prince of Wales
(following a national tour), Sunset Boulevard at the Adelphi
playing Artie Green, also understudying and playing Joe
Gillis, Lady In The Dark at the Royal National Theatre, the
part of Hugo Dahl in Maddie at the Lyric and Jimmie in Sweet
Charity at the Victoria Palace. He appeared in the British
premier of I love You, You're Perfect, Now Change at the
Churchil Theatre Bromley, then at the Comedy Theatre and in
the South African premier. Stephen Blackpool in the musical
version of Hard Times at the Theatre Royal Windsor and
Haymarket.
Theatre credits also include: Editor Daily in
The Cradle Will Rock at Battersea Arts Centre, Za'Zaman in a
showcase production of Scheherazade at the Royal Academy Of
Music, Stone in City Of Angels at Upstairs at the Landor,
followed by two showcase productions; Movieworld at the
Strand Theatre in which he played the Narrator Alfie (aka
Michael Caine), Whatever Happened To Baby Jane at the Thetare
Royal Brighton playing Young Martin. Russell took the leading
part Harry in a revival of Ace Of Clubs by Noel Coward at the
Wimbledon Studio Theatre.
Television credits include:
Campion in Elizabeth for HTV, House of Eliott and Hangar 17
for the BBC and Rip It Up for Metro Films.
Russell has
recorded albums for Lady In The Dark, Maddie, Hard Times and
three new shows: Oscar, Sea Changes and Between The
Kisses.
